Origins
The origins of this site, come from a forum called Guardian's Wish. On this forum (which is about the anime Shugo Chara), they have some very talented graphic designers, and graphic shoppes where people may request forum sets (an icon/avatar + a signature image). Pocky, the webmistress, grew interested in this, and so asked on there what people used to make graphics. Some used photoshop, and some used GIMP. Pocky, not having her photoshop at the time, download GIMP, and with the help of a member, got the basics of GIMP. She has to admit, that most of the graphics she made on GIMP were less than eye-pleasing. Then, after a month or so of GIMP, her father decided to buy the Adobe CS3 suite for her brother (who is pretty artsy). Pocky asked for the photoshop in the suite, and her father installed it for her. After toying around it for a while, Pocky finally got some decent looking graphics looking for her, at least in her eyes. Then, came the judgement of others. Guardian's Wish has some very good critiquers, and so through their critiques, Pocky gradually got better and better (though she's still no where near their level). So here she is, making graphics, improving her skills one step at a time.
Previous Sites
Pocky started out on webs. Very common yes, but it started with the pre-made templates they had. As she got exposed to more and more sites, it was inevitable that she would get curious. So, this curious girl googled information on "how to make a website" and stumbled upon Celestial Star. She attempted to follow the tutorials, but as she had barely any knowledge of coding, she gave up on it for a while, and focused on making graphics. Pocky opened a site, Pocky-Chan for the taste of having a website using uploading (she used a premade layout). Pocky-chan wasn't all that successful, as Pocky really had no idea what the heck to do. Slowly she learned, and then, she decided she had enough knowledge (which was far from true) and decided to give subdomain hosting a go. She knew Edlyn from Guardian's Wish, and Edlyn's site, so when she saw that Edlyn was taking hostees, Pocky jumped at the chance, and so here she is now, in her little corner of her website, improving her skills.
The Name
Why Musical Days? Why not something better, like Waltzing Sonatas, or Rendezvousing Crickets? I'll tell you why. It's a simple name is it not? Just Musical and Days. I want this site to be a simple site, to be able to find what you want and need, nothing un-needed or unnecessary. The second thing is, I am a musical person. I love music, listening to it, playing it. I play the violin and the piano, and this skill of being able to play these instruments has been a big part in my life. Therefore, the musical comes in. Days, a simple word, meaning the time which someone's life continues. Musical Days would be a combination of these two words, making the site name mean, The musical time in someone's life. That someone, meaning I. It might not make sense to you, but to me, it's more than enough justification for this title to be the name of this site, my little corner of the online world.
